BTW - this is the one year anniversary since Libyans rose up to overthrow Mumar Khadafi. The economic conditions that helped foster the protests (followed by insurrection, civil war, and revolution) remain pretty much as bad as they were before Khadafi was overthrown. The NTC is incapable of restoring order or dealing the economic conditions since Khadafi gutted the various institutions and cronyism and corruption are rampant. The militias don’t think too much of the NTC and are operating autonomously - opening the door for more violence to come.

Overthrowing a dictator is the easy part. Building lasting institutions that are responsive and just are much tougher. They need all the luck they can get.
