Has there ever been a single society in the history of the world that has condoned sexual acts with children?

And if so, WHY??!?!?!

There are some that still do. I remember a south american tribe where the age of consent is 8, an african one where girls start having sex at 6, boys at 8.

Sexual morality is arbitrary, and it’s the attitudes around sex that make it exploitive or not - and well the mechanics of it too (little kids could be physically hurt by rape by a full grown man - societies with very low ages of consent would have practices to avoid that).

But my main thought is that societies where women lose all their rights when they get married and don’t have the rights to divorce or remarriage make marriage itself a form of exploitation, all the more horrible when it is forced on or even allowed for someone very young. And even the west has a history of abusing women and girls that way.
