One more thing to keep in mind: one of our co-bloggers, and co-authors of our 500-page anti-denial book, is a former denier himself (who writes about his story in the afterword). I won’t reveal much (certainly not his real name), but I will just say that he is a future legit Holocaust historian, after he gets his PhD. He certainly wasn’t a “liar” when he used to be an HDer, just a confused youth, nor was his aim to incite. Having finally seen through the idiocy of the HD he became their formidable opponent.

That’s awesome. Always do like seeing stories about people who do complete 180’s on things like that. And I think this speaks to why I don’t think HD should be criminal. Your co-blogger would have seen himself as a victim of censorship with such laws. We owe it to future generations to document history as accurate as possible which is why I am glad Holocaust historians, horrifying though the Holocaust was don’t fall into temptation by repeating the often repeated human lampshade myth. I mean Ilse Koch was a terrible person who deserved to spend her remaining years in prison so why embellish?
