Indeed.

Is there a word for a viewpoint (or a set of asserted opinions) that is so wrong, so wrecked, so completely incorrect in its fundamental assumptions, that there’s no possible way to untangle or correct it without throwing the whole thing out? That if you wanted to answer or correct this view, you find yourself overwhelmed and don’t know where to start?

I guess the first thing to do would be to point out that the #1 source of atheist unhappiness would be humanity’s self-destructive behavior in the name of imaginary things… And of course it can be a little difficult transitioning from “god(s) have a plan for me” to “I make my own plans”, but other than that, I’m pretty excited to be a self-aware carbon unit. It’s an incredibly privileged position, but also a very humble thing.

Besides, religious stories are boring… Science beats the pants off of middle eastern ghost stories any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
