I'm not making my point very well, here. I just get tired of how often people are mocked these days as stupid or naive just for displaying generosity and compassion. It didn't used to be that way. Do you agree?

I agree, there is no reason to mock kindness or generousity. It is a quality to be admired.
What I resent is the tired old assumption that liberals are kind and generous and conservatives are...just not. It's not a fair assumption.
