I am deeply proud of the rebellion in Iran, though it hasn’t succeeded.

I’m less happy with the toothless rebellion in Egypt where the secular, non-regime citizens came out into the streets but never gained any power.

Tunisia was an improvement, though oppression of the Jews who live there is part and parcel of the new regime.

Saudi Arabia sits on a sea of oppressed Shiites the way Iraq did.

I’m not sure how this all contradicts my problem with the religion. I hope for the best, but for instance don’t believe that peace with Israel is possible, and don’t believe that Jews and non-ruling-elite Muslim sects will ever be treated as human in most Middle Eastern countries
