I think it’s worth noting that Anonymous is a diffuse, loosely linked collaborative, and that not all Anonymous actions are of this variety.

I do think the days of the iconic Anon that we know now (the guy fawks-ian Anon) have come to an end - and the movement has really become diluted in the last couple of years - with people usurping the imagery etc for their personal pet issues, and not so much broader civic action.

That is not what happened here - these were ‘legit’ agitators associated with Anon, but they were not particularly associated with with anti-raciasm/anti-bullying, anony-ops, youranonnews, anonyuk,

(i do not support their actions here, but they were legitimately the ostensible hacking arm of ANON)

I have worked with Anon in the past - on some actions - particularly the hacking of freejahar.com, and the baltospectator incident, and with some on disseminating information during the Boston Bombings and its aftermath.

This group is more concerned with using information and data to counter racists and cyberbullies, and schools, organizations that fire, harm, bully people for glbt, race, and other personal issues.

Some Anon members are involved in syria atm, and again they would be a different group than these anti-isreal members.

Not all anon actions are virtuous, and there simply is no way to control a group with no leader and associations in the loosest sense.
