They can’t hold back the changes they fear, but they’re going to give it a shot.

They’re doing a damn good job of it as it is. They hold all the fucking cards and power and seem completely dead set on making it impossible to exist as a non-white person in America without literally becoming a second-class citizen, complete with the loss of vote, just, you know, without actually ‘losing’ the vote in the technical sense. Not until they own enough fucking states to crack open the constitution like they’ve wanted to forever.

EDIT: The problem is that, with the way Trump has been allowed to stack the judiciary, combined with the way the GOP has prevented Dems from filling vacancies themselves, we’re going to be living with the consequences of Trump legally for a generation, if not two. That means a lot of laws ensuring their vaunted white supremacy remains, and meaning we may not even get the elections we deserve because hey, fuck them, they’re not white, they’re literally lesser people by law according to the courts!!
