This is a sop to hardline Islamists. The amount of hypocrisy of them and the UN is so intense it is very difficult to express. This is utterly evil. It will be used as an excuse to execute the opponents of the sheiks and the mullahs and to silence legitimate dissent. The people this will hurt the most are those very Muslims who want to make those nations better and less medieval.

Go UN for sanctioning this. Add that on to killing gay people and the disastrous history of the human rights commission and we have the strongest arguments yet for the uselessness of the body.

The UN is clearly being influenced by the Easter Hemispheric G77 nations. They have the votes and represent a majority. This vote and the “gay execution vote” indicate to me that they are aid and abating global theocratic extremists (hardline Islamists). This of course flies in the face of the notion that the UN is a progressive organization.

And of course there is the upcoming UN sponsored anti-Israel hate fest.
