For many around the world, the existence of Jesus and the nature of his identity is very nearly a life and death matter. Nonetheless, the point of this discussion is really not so much about Jesus per se, but about denying Jewish identity and attributing a fabricated “Palestinian” identity to historical figures for political purposes. The goals of the television interview and the essay are to minimize or delegitimize the historical connection of the Jewish people to the land of Israel, and to substitute a false and historically inaccurate “Palestinian” history. The lie that Jesus was not a Jew, but rather, a “Palestinian” is but one example of this approach.

That is why an otherwise serious person would worry about it.
