What, me worry?2/22/2011 2:22:02 pm PST

To me, it’s a bad policy because innocent people can die or be framed. 100s of prisoners were let out of death row when DNA evidence started to be used.

Defense attorney Jill Thorpe asked jurors to spare Ford’s life, saying she was a “broken person” who suffered repeated acts of sexual and physical abuse and abandonment as a child.

I wanted to comment on this earlier. I was reading about her history. She definitely had a tortured childhood, tossed from relative to relative. Something like 4 caregivers before she was 3? And her mother was nuts. Did she even know her father?

This alone is abusive. The Miami cop killer last month, Johnny Sims, had a similar upbringing. All abused children, however, don’t grow up to be ruthless killers, so it takes a special kind of person still.

I also don’t accept her claims of sexual abuse. Not that it couldn’t happen. For sure it could, but she’d say anything at this point. Also, some of those stories are pretty far out there. Really over the top. I’d have to have some corroborating evidence of abuse before I believed her.

Anyway, justice was served.
