I think the whole things is just sad—that Elizabeth died bitter and angry, that John was so selfish and uncompassionate, that the kids are in danger of losing both parents—it’s a depressing lose-lose all the way around. *sigh*

It so is! The first thing I thought about when the indictment came out was “those poor kids.”

Maybe part of her bitterness came from never recovering from the death of her first son. Her whole life was part fairy tale and part horrible tragedy.
