I’m just sad to see outside outside government and corporate interests taking sides in this at all, no matter which side they are on.

The more I have informed myself on Syria the more obvious it has become that the anti-government forces are a minority of the population. A statistically significant minority perhaps, but still one that cannot claim to represent the views of the population at large.

What your actually discussing here is revolutionary war against a legitimate standing government and being fought by a minority. Why in the name of God should we get involved in that? Giving the rebels arms and financial support will only result in more bloodshed and deaths, not less.

Then there is the fact that while the Assad government is not exactly pro-western or Israeli the rebel faction seems to be from their supporters statements even less so. I simply do not understand why many people seem to feel we should be supporting the rebels.
