Once again, it you wish to own a gun to defend your home, that is your choice and your right under the 2nd Amendment. Jut be advised that it takes training and sound nerves to use on in a home-defense situation

It is a different matter if you think that you can carry those same “protections” around with you in public. It takes a much larger and harder-to-acquire skills set to be able to effectively defend yourself and others in a public place, especially a crowded public place in a state of panic over the sound of gunfire and the sight of dead and/or wounded.

Those skills include extensive training, experience, nerves of steel, high situational awareness and sound judgement under stress. They do not come automatically with your gun permit, nor are they required by most states to obtain a concealed carry permit.
