The right has always been susceptible to cult of personality. They tend to want a strong leader to do all the thinking for them (setting aside the fact that Trump isn’t remotely strong). This tendency was brought into light when they accused the left of having such a cult around Obama. The right is, by nature, almost totally unable to see from a different point of view or values, or even comprehend that another set of values can even exist.
