Thought exercise: I came up with the following after about maybe 3-4 minutes’ thought, and composition: (it take about 30-35 seconds to recite):

Thank you ladies and gentlemen. The First Family and I will be going off to Camp David for the weekend, but the people should rest assured that I will be carefully monitoring the situation regarding the terrible storm in Texas, and that we(I) will be in constant contact with the responsible local, state, and federal agencies to ensure that everything that can be done to aid the victims of this disaster will be done to the best extent of the government’s resources. Thank you very much/

So how hard could it be? Some Random Guy On The Internet (me) comes up with a coherent (and decent) statement for the POTUS on Hurricane Harvey.
And what do we get from the actual “President”?
A wave, and “good luck”…..

Followed by pardoning a criminal.
