re: #46 Anymouse 🌹🎃

Really? I made a point of going to Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown while I was there, along with a number of Civil War battlefields. (I never really lived anywhere something historic happened, and Virginia has historic stuff everywhere you turn.)

I even went to the trouble of finding out the historical context of Witchduck Road in Virginia Beach and Quarantine Road in Norfolk. (I had a lot of free time.)

I’ve been to Jamestown, but that was a good long while ago. Most of the ventures my family made when I was younger were to museums, particularly science museums since that was the sort of thing I loved as a kid. But when you grow up in a military family, particularly when one parent or the other is out to sea for six months at a stretch, just taking a trip to the mall can be a treat to a kid. Then I was a college student for a few years out of high school so I barely had time between that and work to do much. And I left college just in time for the bottom to fall out of the job market, so I just now reached a point where I can afford to even consider paying the entry fees at places like Colonial Williamsburg.
