On Tuesday, in his invaluable daily newsletter, Eric Boehlert slapped the networks around for catering to the angry patio people. And if you want a look at the politics in play, check out this Politico long-form examination of Rep. Elissa Slotkin, who, for the purposes of this discussion, anyway, is supposed to be a Democrat of great national influence. The kernel of news in the story is that Slotkin does not plan to vote for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House, which brings us all back to the abortive Tim Ryan coup in 2018. But the more significant passages are about Slotkin’s views of the people in her district and around the country who voted twice for a vulgar talking yam.
