What is the actual undecided percentage in the electorate at this point? I mean are we simply going to see five months of campaign spending and a constant barrage of ads for Romney and Obama trying to convince 6-8% (if that) of the population to vote for them?

The smartest thing I ever heard Barak Obama say, and the reason I supported him from the day he announced, was in mid-2006.

“It’s insane that both parties are spending all their efforts fighting over 2 or 3 million swing voters. The future belongs to whoever can motivate the 40 million who are eligible to vote but aren’t even registered.”

This is why “community organizer” was a valid credential. McCain pulled as many votes as George W Bush did… and Obama beat him by 9-1/2 million. Booyah.

(and this is why Republican governors and state legislatures are trying to make it harder to vote.)
