Capaldi was given a tough task to follow Matt Smith and to do so with awful scripts and story lines. They didn’t show off his talents, and I could see how he’d chafe at some of this stuff. The story issues fall squarely on Moffat, who stretched himself thin as showrunner on two shows, and it showed.

They need a showrunner who can focus on the character development and frankly I think they need to shake up whoever the next doctor is.

That Christmas special with River Song was his finest hour. And it was a really good one. I kinda teared up.
