re: #481 Unshaken Defiance

Why is the media characterizing helicopter crash deaths as because of the protests? What did I miss? Seems one dead from the violence and 2 dead as a result of a crash, cause undetermined.

1. It’s the media.
2. The crash happened during the protests.
3. Media are mostly stupid.

Linking the crash and the riot as news events is the simplistic thing to do, see point 3 above: Whether or not there is any actual link, outside of sheer unfortunate timing won’t be found out until a thorough investigation is complete.

BTW, I’m thinking “not”: helicopters are complex and often-unreliable machines, barring some unambiguous evidence (like bullet holes in the windshield), I’m guessing “mechanical failure” as the cause.
