re: #499 AuldTrafford

Well, not going to argue fuel here; it’s another major issue. Suffice to say I’m not sure I agree, but - in any event - I think wringing our hands about 150 years from now is not productive when nuclear energy has that kind of time to be further researched.

As to your statements about gases, I don’t see how that counters my position at all. First, you totally fail to address the major question of whether the gases are harmful. We’ve been warmer in recorded history, and the results weren’t all bad: bumper crops farther north, and good tourism.

But 400 ppm, or more, you still can’t prove that’s due to human activity rather than some natural cycle we know nothing about - and there’s no way for us to know. So, issue number one is to decide whether the changes are (i) lasting (we won’t be able to find that out) or (ii) hamful. That we can debate, I guess, but I doubt you’ll convince me here. Especially since it’s getting late for me, and I’m about to retire for the evening.

Another time, then. Good luck to your Reds against Barca. (((They really should trade in those AIG shirts, though ;>])))
