There’s a certain strain of glibertarianism that runs through Silicon Valley.

There’s a whole lot of not giving a crap about consequence in a lot of tech and how people choose to spend their money. But it’s not just tech. People talk about ‘voting with their pocketbooks’ when it comes to artists or athletes taking a political stand they don’t like, but they’ll shop at Walmart or other big box stores - and now on Amazon - and then decry the loss of the Mom And Pop Stores.

Perfect example - my idiot sister says she will never forgive Hillary Clinton, because HRC served on Walmart’s BoD, and Walmart ‘destroyed my hometown’*. But she herself proudly worked at Home Depot for years, assisting in the destruction of Mom And Pop hardware stores.

*If she thinks Walmart destroyed Gettysburg, I urge her to try to drive through the Square anytime between Memorial Day and Labor Day
