So, things we learned from the last few depressions/panics: (Things that are useful to know once the panic is already upon us.)
1. If we all save and put our money in a coffee can (I’ll have to use a hot chocolate can) in the backyard, this will last a lot longer. Save and put your money in the bank, or spend it on reasonable needs.
2. Protectionism is a dud. Smoot-Hawley Tariff. Look it up.
3. The government is not your savior, whatever Steinbeck may have written.
Anybody else have any thoughts?
