re: #500 Dangerman
that i dont remember though i wouldnt say it didnt happen
i do remember they all appeared to be having a good time ragging and being ragged on
The one I saw had Rodriguez, Mull, Billy Crystal, and Robin Williams.
Williams was his usual manic stand-up self and was pretty much the funniest one there. (And I also noticed that the insult tossers were avoiding throwing lines at him. Donât poke the bear or it will eat you?)
Rodriguez, unfortunately, was pretty much doing nothing but tossing insult jokes. He aimed a bunch at Mull, and Mull struck back when it was his turn. Overall effect was that he came off (to the bunch of us watching the program as a group) was that he was the least talented one there.
Mull was his usual understated self. Took some shots back at Rodriguez. But compared to Williamsâ zany energy he came across as sort of boring. Iâd say Mullâs style was not served well by the format.
Crystal was somewhere in between and engaged on a more intellectual level. I think Rodriguez had tossed a few barbs at Crystal and Crystalâs response was pretty much to just ignore Rodriguez - perhaps deciding that the best course was to treat Rodriguez as unworthy of retaliation?
