Those that believe the government should prevent discrimination in private business do you also believe in the government regulating free speech, regulating who you associate with and the like because that is the path this leads down.

Rand Paul is following the libertarian tradition of people being allowed to do what they want with private property provided they don’t violate the rights of others. He has stated he doesn’t think business SHOULD discriminate, but that they should be allowed to if they want to be idiots.

Just because we don’t like what someone has to say or does, does not mean they shouldn’t be allowed to do it provided they don’t violate rights in the process.

This is a basic concept this blog completely glosses over instead resorting to the lowest common denominator and fear mongering that takes place at both extremes.
