re: #481 Lidane

I thought I was going crazy for ages. Mood swings, erratic periods, etc. I couldn’t figure out what the hell was wrong with me and one of my aunts suggested it might be my thyroid, so I went to an endocrinologist. Turned out to be PCOS, which explained everything.

It sucks, but having a diagnosis helps. At least I now have meds to stabilize my hormones and I know how to manage my symptoms. Except I forgot my meds this morning. Oh well. I’ll take my evening dosage and just call it even. I’ll make up for it tomorrow.

There’s hope. It looks like I might be pulled off some of the more mundane busywork I’d been doing for my boss and put onto projects that are more interesting and which have a wider scope. No more monitoring HootSuite and Twitter for me, I hope.

My wife has it. Of all the not-fun experiences, she thinks the extended perimenopause is the most wearing. It’s “normal” for PCOS, so consider yourself forewarned.
