I’ve had this discussion of free tuition since the nineties and every argument against it boils down to being butthurt that they had to pay tuition and don’t want someone else benefiting. Can you honestly not look around you and see that a significant number of jobs that require a degree to apply do not really require a degree to perform? It’s a fucking joke out here and everyone knows it.

What tuition? I can tell you how much tuition I paid my last semester in college at the University of Texas at Austin in Spring 1984. Full load of classes: $212.50 TOTAL. It still was a hassle scraping up the money because I was also working 32 hours a week and supporting myself but I did it.

My last year in law school, tuition was a measly $75/hour. It’s currently $962/hour (just checked).
