You know with statements like Mitt’s, the above thing Kragar has linked to, and the Concerned Women for America blaming the Holocaust on the Age of Reasons and Enlightenment, I’m convinced more than ever that many modern conservatives aren’t conservatives at all but reactionaries. This isn’t opposition to rushed change which is merely conservative, this is harking back for the past where church doctrine ruled supreme over state doctrine. This is textbook reactionarism. I must admit I didn’t realize it until I saw groups like the AFA and FRC finding fault not with merely Roe but also Eisenstadt V. Baird and Griswold vs Connecticut. This is honestly scary.
