Our country has lost the plot. Our citizen’s minds have been blown by reality TV, TMZ, Drudge and the like.

I remember when TV was actually a bit educational. And the internet promised to be the largest encyclopedia ever.

Get off my country!!!

So, so much has been lost. I’m always being asked: “Citation?” for anything I say. “I don’t know! I read it. In a book. Remember books?”

Even if I could remember the exact book I read it in, how do I show it to them? Hell, maybe KCLS still has it—probably in Central Storage. I could put a hold on it and get it sent to my local library. Then what? And that’s the one out of a thousand I might be able to get. 99.9% of human knowledge is gone. If you can find anything on a given subject online, it’s an incredibly light once-over suitable for a third-grade textbook.

Sorry if I’m ranting, but it’s incredibly frustrating, because everybody thinks “Everything is online.” Practically nothing is online!
