Because douchecanoe here doesn’t seem to see a need for a port near the mouth of the Mississippi River, which provides access to world markets for agriculture and manufacturing along the river, the Missouri, the Ohio, &c. Oh yeah, and people needing to live near that port to work there. And all the businesses needed to support those people.
Sure, just close the port and cut off a major portion of our export capacity.
