It matters that all these people ran. Being among the first often means throwing yourself on the pyre of history so someone else who has similar life experience can be perceived as a more familiar, “viable” option next time. The work continues.

The choices had to narrow. The very fact that people of color ran in such large numbers speaks to the diversity of our party. And the group has decided that we must pick between Biden, Warren, Sanders, and Buttigieg. We know some of the reasons are electability, but eventually we were going to lose some of the people running.
