hehehehe. Applying a term like that to economics systems is actually quite hilarious.
It’s sort of the go-to meme for republicans when dealing with anything that has been rigorously studied, and about which academia has come to a consensus which isn’t consistent with republican goals.
Just make up some bullshit, then, when the academic establishment calls you ca crackpot, create a “think tank”, hire “scholars”, and churn out gobbledygook that means nothing, but convinces stupid people there is a controversy. This approach didn’t start with evolution in American politics, it started with economics.
It has been incredibly successful. Huge numbers of Americans believe things about economics that are provably false, including most democrats.
