Why was the lifting of the ex-communication not accompanied by or conditional upon the formal expulsion of this Jew-hating holocaust denying Bishop?
Can we not all agree that this evil person should not be an official of the Church, and that by not insisting on his removal the Pope has created the impression that the Church condones those views?

As the Bard would say, aye, there’s the rub. Is Holocaust denial a cardinal sin, or “merely” venial?

Myself, with an uncle who saw one of the death camps first hand (he was there when Patton took the locals from a neighboring town through the one Third Army liberated, and then asked them to their faces “Are you trying to tell me you had no idea this was happening?”) I put Holocaust deniers in the same general category as NAMBLA “members”, and don’t get me started on how I feel they should be dealt with by the law.

I really don’t want to get banned, for any freaking reason. Now you know why I tend to step carefully around these threads. I do have opinions, some of them fairly strong- but I tend to keep them to myself.
