that was seen as a benefit: an outsider, an anti-politician coming in to kick some ass and shake things up.
It allowed him to get away with things that would have derailed the campaigns or even careers of most professional politicians.
Well I think what DM is saying that this was his first attempt at any sort of public service. I mean there are previous Presidents that had never been elected but take Eisenhower, not even including his service as Supreme Allied commander had been an university President.I hope the Trump experience shows anyone just looking for an “outsider” that it’s not a good idea especially one that isn’t humble enough to admit when he’s wrong.
