If you really want science, you read a science journal or textbook. They are clear and concise in their language, but a bit, well, boring.

This BBC series, like all other historical/scientific documentaries is first and foremost broadcast for entertainment purposes.

That does not mean that it cannot be highly informational, but that is not how it was conceived. I try to make that point to people all the time.
