re: #509 jamesfirecat

I take issue with saying that DADT was a homophobic bill.

The previous position of the army was “No homos at all, no ifs and or butts, and especially no buttsex” DADT managed to open the door a crack.

Was it perfect. No of course not, but it was a step forward.

OK take issue…. fine.

It is a policy stopping openly gay, lesbian, and bisexual individuals from serving in the United States military, as mandated by federal law Pub.L. 103-160 (10 U.S.C. § 654). Unless one of the exceptions from 10 U.S.C. § 654(b) applies, the policy prohibits anyone who “demonstrate(s) a propensity or intent to engage in homosexual acts” from serving in the armed forces of the United States.

Based on that, seems pretty homophobic to me. If I were an openly gay, lesbian, and bisexual individual who wanted to serve his country…. I would feel discriminated against. AND CLINTON (the Left) did it.
