If by “reasonable,” one means that the GOP candidates didn’t come off sounding (to borrow from Yahtzee) “pants on head retarded,” then I’m willing to buy that. But if by “reasonable,” you mean they sounded like they had some good ideas and plans to enact them, then you really need to stop drinking before noon. What we saw last night was two hours of seeing who could get the most applause for savaging a man who wasn’t there, namely Pres. Obama.

This, plus the midwest is currently staffed by governors who got elected on the “I’m a sane centrist Republican” ticket, and who everyone now hates for being (as anyone with a functioning brain realized all along) uber-rigid ideologues. It may not be the whole story but that’s going to be an interesting subplot to the Romney saga.
