Wind chill advisories or warnings now cover about a fifth of the USA.

It’s -18 degrees F here now. (Calm winds, so -18 windchill.)

By comparison, its -10 in Fairbanks, Alaska.

I ran across language lesson teaching the difference between “weather” and “climate” and pointed out that a lot of Americans do not seem to be aware of the difference, as weather reports like this lead to the standard comments from climate change deniers.

It is actually as cold as it has been all winter here in Germany, down into the teens. But at least sunny and dry. I actually prefer that to 34° and rainy.
