To be grisly about it, there’s a more lurid variety of death and injury from botched abortions than Covid, and if it bleed it leads is still an iron rule of the media.

But it is true that the media is in enemy hands, so I sure hope D strategists are actually taking this into account, rather than just counting on fair coverage of their proposals etc.

My worry is that the standard Dem “putting all eggs in one basket” approach, in this case the Roe bill which pretty much everybody knows is not going to pass and (last I checked) will include at least three Dem “Nay” votes. The reason for my worry? That the party leadership will want to avoid playing hardball and making abortion too much of an election issue because they fear “pro-life” Dems coming under fire.
