I was never a fan of Reagan and voted against him both times he ran for office. It wasn’t his intellect or policies or viewpoint that got my approval. His handling of AIDs was a disgrace, his guns for hostages ploy was a disgrace, his trickle down economics only helped the wealthy, his environmental policies were destructive, etc But he did have the right temperament for the office.

So kind of “aside from that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?”

I guess we’ll agree to disagree—being a dumb asshole with a phony smile who surrounds himself with other assholes is not the temperament I look for in a president.
