They are really running out of people to scapegoat, aren’t they? I never thought I would see the right down there go from Reagan, Buckley and Goldwater to raving nutbars so rapidly.

It was only a few months after Buckley died that these fools began the task of mainstreaming their particular brand of hatred.

Buckley was the major barrier for them. As long as he was alive, he had the respect of enough people to read nuts out of the right and consign them to the fringe. Conservatism has no one today of similar stature.
