It’s pretty obvious what went wrong here. The mental health system failed badly, as for all of the laws on the books about preventing mentally ill people from buying weapons, there turned out to be no good way of doing that. Since the solutions to these problems involve government, and there is no such thing as a good government service in the Tea party ideology, they’re going to play for time. Frankly having someone who turns up at every meeting and calls these delaying tactics criminal is a good thing. We’ve known about these issues for years no and nothing has happened. Maybe a survivor speaking out will get something done.

it’s my understanding that in AZ you need one person to point the finger and two more to collaborate, then the authorities can step in…sounds fairly draconian to me but fair enough…what more can govt do?
