You know, as the mother of three boys—three white boys—I feel tremendous sympathy for the parents of Trayvon Martin. The idea that someone would stalk one of them and shoot one of them for no other reason than Walking While Black (or White, as would be our case) is heartbreaking and infuriating.

I actually don’t care much about Zimmermann. I don’t care about the drip, drip, drip that is eating away at his reputation. Because it won’t bring back the boy that he killed. It’s all noise. In the end, this case is going to be about the fact that he killed a boy because he was outside, being black. Period.
