There was exactly one problem with the 2016 election. One. No more, no less. One thing decided it.

Turnout.

Because of ratfuckery and decades of shitpiling on Hillary from all sides of the spectrum, people stayed home. People who really, really did not want Trump and would have preferred Clinton either stayed home or voted third party to make a point (“Hey, she was 98% likely to win anyway and I have shit to do/a point to make,” etc.).

People underestimated the size of Trump’s base, but the majority of the country was NeverTrump in some form. The country let Clinton and themselves down. Full stop. Conservatives will never vote for a Democrat and we don’t need them. We just need liberals and neutrals who live in reality to show up. They didn’t.
