OK, this is bullshit. Happy Warrior and I had this discussion the other day. The $2.00 minimum wage I got for my first job would be $14.38 in oday’s money, and thay didn’t crash the economy, in fact the economy was booming. His was exactly half that 30 years later. The 1960s disprove your thesis.
The minimum wage was $1.60 in 1968, or about $10.34 in 2016 US dollars. That’s the highest it’s ever been. It wasn’t raised to $2 until 1974, by which time inflation had knocked it down to about $9 in today’s money.
