Are Cooks Illustrated the same folks that do America’s Test Kitchen?

I have their revised America’s Best Recipes cookbook that was published in the last year or so. Monster tome, but fantastic information with their recipes. Not only do they give the recipe, but often it’s a 1-2 page essay explaining what they are trying to get in terms of results and the experimentation with preparation and cooking that led up to the final recipe.

So I had a cookbook as bedtime reading for a week or two. And most of the recipes I’ve tried have been excellent - even when I tweak ingredients depending on what I have on hand.
