His game plan is an old one. He wants to appear to be doing something when his plan is to do absolutely nothing substantive to resolve the issue. He’s totally aware that the optics of this policy doesn’t look good for him, so he’s pretending to be concerned when he doesn’t really give a f*ck what really happens to these families. I remember when the Gang of Eight wrote a bipartisan immigration reform plan, he adamantly opposed it and went as far as to claim the bill provided amnesty for undocumented immigrants when he knew it didn’t. If Cruz is one thing, it’s a self-serving b*st*rd. The best example is the way he’s been sucking up to Trump after Trump insulted his wife’s appearance. Any other man/politician with decent morals who valued his wife, marriage, and family would have never praised Trump for anything for committing that major offense, but Cruz did.
