Maybe they’re just assholes, because if they don’t have the votes I don’t see how this helps them get the votes.

I think they’re still waiting on the FBI’s “final” results from their latest “investigation” - but it could be for either option:

A) An excuse to go ahead and ram a Senate vote through.
B) An excuse to dump Kavanaugh.

Though I’m guessing option B) - much as I’m sure it would make more than a few GOP Senators breathe easier - is getting less-and-less viable the more Trump, Graham, and the rest of the buffoon circus keep running their yaps.

I’m also thinking the [Senate] “votes” are going to be what they are: Trump’s speeches, etc. are now all about ginning up outrage among the “base” pre-elections. That the whole mess is also ginning up outrage among the Opposition never seems to occur to them.
