Let’s pretend for a moment we don’t have to deal with the GOP. How would we want VA to shake out? My thought is:
1. Northam, as far as I’ve heard, hasn’t actually apologized. I feel that at this point he will no more authority as the head of the Democratic party in VA, and he needs to resign.
2. It’s too early for me to say about Fairfax, but based on the fact that she stated this earlier, I don’t give him much of a chance. But, why did VA vote for him if this was out? I suspect some of it was related to his opponent.
3. Herring seems to have taken the correct first steps. It would be a good opportunity for him to come out and talk about the 80s in the south, and own it and explore how things have changed.

Now, to take reality into account. The GOP needs to eat shit for not having any standards at all.
